Wild Atlantic Retreat is not only a historic PLACE
It is also a PHILOSOPHY
Timeline: History of the House
Stay at Wild Atlantic Retreat and get to know the The Old Presbytery. Built in mid 1800s by a local community for a priest. The Old Presbytery served as a place of scholarly knowledge and spiritual guidance for generations of parishioners. “A holy house”, calls it the last priest who lived in the property till late 1990s.
Beginning of 2000s
An Irish–Russian couple had a dream – to create a personal oasis of beauty and tranquility in county Kerry. Both of us had a strong personal connection to the area, both of us enjoyed escaping to this part of the world from our internationally bound lives. The Old Presbytery became our sacred escape, our country family home and an enclave for international creative gatherings with friends and colleagues.
has marked a new turn in the history of the house. Due to pandemic we were drawn to extend the hospitality and beauty of our family home to wider circles. Out of place of abundance, sharing and oneness the Wild Atlantic Retreat was born. A place of relaxation and joy, sustainable studies, organic gardening, environmental development and spiritual growth. Open to those seeking beauty, pleasure and reconnection with nature and self.

Your comfort via our decor and interior design at Wild Atlantic Retreat
Part of the attraction of owning a beautiful place in a stunning location was the desire to design it 1000% personally, according to my and my family’s needs, tastes and aesthetic sensibilities. This house is truly decorated with love. It is one of the places in my international interior design & styling portfolio that I started in mid 90s and by now it includes international clients and locations.
Book your stay to experience it IRL or contact me to receive an online interior design consultation and an educational interior design tour of the Old Presbytery @ email@example.com
During the renovation of the Old Presbytery I had immersed myself in the study of interior design and its history. This earned me a RHODEC professional interior design diploma in 2005! Of which I have forgotten! But the passion for creating beautiful spaces and looks brought me later to my second Masters Degree – in Art History with the focus on modern architecture and history of the garden (UCD, 2010-2011).
I cherish the house in Kerry as a beautiful physical manifestations of the divine, of the talent and the soul. The manifestation that now changes the lives of others for better.
If you stay at Wild Atlantic Retreat, you will experience the colourful aesthetic vision that will remind you of brightness of life, harmony of nature and the wisdom of the world cultures. In the tranquil atmosphere of harmony and balance, you will enjoy furniture, tiled ovens, lights and furnishings I have sourced at the antique markets and contemporary design fairs and stores in Italy (Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milan, Florence & Tuscany, Venice & Veneto, Rome), Belgium (Brussels, Gent, Antwerpen), France (Paris, Loire Valley), Spain (Madrid, Valladolid, San Sebastian), the Netherlands (Amsterdam), Czech Republic (Prague), Ukraine (Kiev), Japan (Tokyo) and Ireland (Dublin, Killarney, Belfast). Artworks around the house are mostly commissions by our artist friends. Every room represents an idea. Every space is built around a reference point. Find the one that speaks to you. Get inspired.
